Turning the Green Bay Area Pink

This week’s blog is written by Marni Hendricks, Mary Kay Independent Sales Director, from Green Bay, Wisconsin.  To find out more information about Marni or the Green Bay MK5K® on April 12, 2014, visit http://support.marykayfoundation.org/greenbaymk5k.

Being part of Mary Kay has given so many women confidence and strength. So four years ago, my unit set out to give something back to our community and to Mary Kay Ash.

We wanted to show that Mary Kay is about so much more than selling lipsticks and earning pink Cadillacs. Many of us enjoy being active, so our vision became clear.  We needed to turn the Green Bay Area pink and plan a MK5K® to benefit The Mary Kay Foundation!

So we go all out.  We park our pink Cadillacs throughout the course with fun tunes blasting out of them.  We decorate the course with pink and black balloons along with some of Mary Kay’s most inspiring quotes.  We also post signs along the way with facts about The Mary Kay Foundation, cancer and domestic violence to boost awareness.

Our first year, we had more than 300 walkers and runners brave the frigid temperatures and snow to make our event successful.  Our past three events have raised more than $30,000 for the Foundation.

We can’t wait to see what our April 12 event holds!  We’ve learned that in little Green Bay, we can make a big difference for The Mary Kay Foundation!  If you’re near our area, we’d love for you to join us!
