Southern California Steps Up Early with April 2018 MK5K®

Ready to make a difference for women in 2018? Gather your friends, family and associates and lace up for the Corona MK5K® benefitting The Mary Kay Foundation℠.

On the heels of their uber-successful 2017 MK5K® — which raised a phenomenal $18,000 — Independent Senior Sales Director Tiffiney Maxwell, Independent Sales Director Debbie Blackford and Independent Beauty Consultant Sandy Cowan, and their energetic team are on the move, gearing up to eliminate cancers affecting women and end domestic violence.

Organizers of the 2017 Corona MK5K® (left to right) Independent Senior Sales Director Tiffiney Maxwell, Independent Beauty Consultant Sandy Cowan, Independent Sales Director Debbie Blackford and her customer Beth Wood celebrate their success. Join them in April 2018!

All levels of runners and walkers are invited to their third family-friendly, fun MK5K® Run and Walk at Eastvale Community Park on April 22, 2018. Choose a 5K or 10K course, which wraps around a picturesque park and riverbed — marked by pink Cadillacs. Wear your favorite shades of pink and head outdoors for race t-shirts, DJ’d music, food, drinks, participant medals, sponsor tables and exciting swag bags.

“We were thrilled with last year’s turnout of 671 participants and 44 area business contributors!” exclaims Debbie. “Supporting The Foundation is easy to get behind because the causes have touched every person’s life in some way. Who can say ‘No?’ We even offer the option of being a virtual participant for those who cannot be onsite.”

Thinking of organizing a local MK5K®? Debbie gives five tips:

  1. Form a committee of runners and non-runners who have different mindsets, skills and talents.

  2. Make strategic decisions for the long term.

  3. Allow for a six-month planning window, if possible.

  4. Promote via social media, email, flyers, posters and your Mary Kay community.

  5. Make your first event memorable so people want to return the next year.

Here is a chance to be a difference maker. Don't get left behind! Register for the Corona MK5K® 2018 today!
