Editor's Note: We're beyond thrilled to feature Jessica Bair as our guest blogger this week. Jessica is Mary Kay Ash's great- granddaughter and a member of The Mary Kay Foundation℠ Board of Directors. She recently followed in her great-grandmother's footsteps by throwing out the first pitch for the St. Louis Cardinals. If you missed Monday's blog about Mary Kay Ash and the Cardinals, be sure to check it out.

The Baseball Legacy Continues

I strive to carry on her legacy in my daily life and my work with the Foundation. Being able to throw out the first pitch just like she did was a once-in-lifetime experience for me.

Independent Future Executive Senior Sales Director Kim Cavarretta presented Jessica with her own #13 Cardinals jersey!

My first thought was I can't throw a baseball! Then I read the story of the Red Jacket and how Mary Kay threw the pitch many years ago. With tears in my eyes, I began to think about this incredible honor. Then, I began to think about what I would wear! Look good, feel good, right?! So I made sure to have a couple of outfit changes planned!

I must confess that before this game, I had only thrown a baseball three times in my life! I truly believe that while on that field, taking in the cheers and sights of this amazing moment, Mary Kay was with me. And my pitch made it to the catcher! It wasn't pretty. But I made it!

Before the game, Jessica spoke to Mary Kay attendees about The Mary Kay Foundation.℠
