What Happens When Peach meets Pink!

As a breast cancer survivor and two-time uterine cancer survivor, I am a passionate advocate of empowering women to take charge of their own health. I founded Peach Outreach® as the vehicle for that passion.

Peach Outreach® is a non-profit organization with two missions:

  1. to raise awareness about uterine/endometrial and other gynecological cancers, and

  2. to raise funds for research and education — which will help with early diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for women with these cancers and their families.

I truly believe we all have the ability to change the world one conversation at a time.

I was lucky enough to have hundreds of such conversations at the recent Mary Kay Seminar in Dallas. My good friend, Karen Banks, a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director, facilitated this opportunity when she recognized that Peach Outreach® has a very similar mission to The Mary Kay Foundation.

Jennifer Cook very graciously invited me to The Mary Kay Foundation’s Expo booth at Seminar, so I could spread the message about Peach Outreach® and uterine cancer. This cancer has some sneaky symptoms that women often miss. Together, we can beat cancer.

I learned afterward that this is a rare and special treat as Mary Kay Seminars are not open to the public. I was so honored and happy to be able to attend as a guest because I was completely bedazzled once I arrived!

I met with women from all over the country and I’m just amazed at how The Mary Kay Foundation instills such a dedication to giving back to the community.

I also took some time during the day to explore each booth and display at the Expo. I learned how The Mary Kay Foundation helps women live safe and healthy lives, free from both domestic violence and disease. I was completely impressed with the globalized effort to empower and protect women.

I also witnessed beautiful, impeccably dressed and joyful women having an exhilarating time at the Expo. These women were having fun!

They listened intently about such things as new products and research findings. They learned about new tools to help them with their Mary Kay businesses. They snapped pictures of each other and the prizes and awards they can earn. I loved the atmosphere of party and fun!

Our tag line is PEACH is the new pink!®

Just as the pink ribbon has garnered attention and funds for breast cancer awareness and research, I hope to use the peach ribbon to gain funds and awareness for gynecological cancers.

I left Dallas after the expo completely enamored with my Mary Kay experience. I've never been around that many women who were so full of life and so positive.
