A Little Time Equals A Big Difference

Mary Kay taught us to be a giver, not a getter.  Seek for the good in everyone and everything.  Do at least one good deed every day -- one that you don’t have to do.

I love that.  And I loved being one of 34 Mary Kay volunteers who packed 500 Teal Totes for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), headquartered in Dallas.

We spent a couple of hours one Saturday morning filling the totes with blankets, brochures, Stories of Hope DVDs and Mary Kay products for women across the United States who will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

This is the second year for The Mary Kay Foundation to support the coalition financially.  Our funds helped pay for the tote bags and the contents.

Oh, I suppose we could have slept late that Saturday morning or caught up on errands.  But when I think of the families and lives we will touch, I’m so glad I spent those two hours working with my fellow Mary Kay employees to make a long-term difference for others.

We look forward to more opportunities like this in 2014.
